World Book Day
On Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day across school. Everyone had a great time exploring their love of reading through a range of fun and engaging activities. Some children came into school in their own clothes, while some took the extra step to come in as a character from one of their favourite books! Staff also joined in, with characters ranging from the Mad Hatter to Harry Potter in school during the day.
Children created their own one-word poem. Starting with a prompt, they then wrote one word on a page and decorated it. Classes also created their own book covers based on a blurb alone and took part in an online lesson from BBC Teach. Year 3 even had a reading workshop, with parents and carers coming into school to see the fantastic reading that their children are doing and to build those fundamental links between school and home.
